How to display your staff role hierarchy in Discord

"Who do I talk to?" is a question every growing server gets. A posted staff hierarchy answers it at a glance, and if it updates itself, you never have to maintain it. Skipper's Hierarchy module builds exactly that.

Where to find it

Run /config Category Miscellaneous Hierarchy, and toggle it on.

Step 1: Build the list

• Add Role: add each role you want shown (up to 20). Roles with more than 100 members can't be added, since the list is meant for staff, not everyone.
• Swap Roles: reorder with Move above, Move under, or Swap.
• Edit Role: give a role an Emoji or a short Description.

Step 2: Style it

• Title: the heading for the list.
• Accent Color: a hex value or colour name for the embed.
• Category: group roles under named headings (a role can only live in one category; uncategorised roles are listed after).
• Presence: prepend each member's status emoji (online, idle, dnd, offline).

Step 3: Post it

Use Preview to check the layout privately first, then Post to send it to a channel. Skipper needs View Channel and Send Messages there, and it remembers the message so it can keep it current.

How members use it

There's nothing for members to run; they just see the list. Skipper auto-updates the posted message every five minutes, so people joining or leaving a role are reflected without anyone lifting a finger. Members are listed per role, ordered by when they joined.

Tips & gotchas

• If the posted message is deleted or the bot can't edit it, updates stop, so re-post to fix it.
• The whole list has a 4,000-character limit; if it's too long, use shorter descriptions, fewer emojis, or fewer roles.
• Limits to remember: 20 roles max, and roles over 100 members can't be added.
• Presence accuracy depends on Discord's presence data; invisible members show as offline.
