Auto-responders
Answer common questions on autopilot. When a message matches a trigger you set, the bot replies with your pre-written response, great for FAQs and canned answers.
/config Category dropdown Automation Auto-responders. Toggle the module on first. How it works
Each auto-responder is a simple trigger response pair. When someone's message matches the trigger, the bot posts the response. Use the blacklist/whitelist to control where responders fire.
For phrases with many variations (like "how do I rank up?" vs "how to level"), use Wildcards instead. They match multiple triggers at once.
Create your first responder
- Choose Add Response and set the trigger phrase.
- Set the response the bot should reply with.
- (Optional) Configure Delete Trigger, Reply Behavior, and Blacklist/Whitelist.
Reference: all settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add / Edit / Remove Response | Manage the trigger-and-response pairs. |
| Blacklist | Channels/roles/users where no responder fires. |
| Whitelist | Restrict every responder to only certain channels/roles/users. |
| Delete Trigger | Delete the member’s triggering message. |
| Reply Behavior | How the bot replies (e.g. as a reply vs a plain message). |
Per-response blacklist & whitelist
The Blacklist and Whitelist above apply to every responder. To limit just one, open Edit Response, pick the response, and choose its own Blacklist or Whitelist. Each takes channels, categories, and roles.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blacklist | Channels, categories, and roles that can’t trigger this response. |
| Whitelist | The only channels, categories, and roles that can trigger this response. |
A !apply response that only works in #applications: edit that response, open its Whitelist, and select just that channel. Every other responder keeps working everywhere.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Responder never fires | Check the trigger matches and the channel isn’t blacklisted (or is within the whitelist). |
| Fires too often / everywhere | Add a Whitelist to limit where it works. For a single response, use its own Whitelist under Edit Response. |
| One response never fires in a channel | Check that response’s own Blacklist/Whitelist under Edit Response, not just the global ones. |
