Community Module

Social Notifier

Never miss a post. Follow accounts across seven platforms and have the bot announce their new content, with its own channel, ping roles and message per account.

Where to find it: run /config Category dropdown Community Social Notifier. Toggle the module on first.

How it works

You add accounts: one per platform and username, up to 10. Each account has its own announcement channel, ping roles and settings, so different creators can post to different places with different pings.

The bot checks each account every few minutes and announces anything new in a rich embed with the post's title, image and a link button. YouTube is faster still: it is notified the moment a video goes up, rather than waiting for the next check.

Good to know

Use a dedicated ping role members can opt into, so only interested people get notified.

Supported platforms

PlatformWhat gets announced
YouTubeNew videos, livestreams and Shorts. Shorts can be turned off per account.
Twitter (X)New posts. Replies and retweets are ignored, only the account’s own posts.
InstagramNew posts and reels.
TwitchWhen the channel goes live, with the stream title and preview.
BlueskyNew posts. Reposts and replies are ignored.
KickWhen the channel goes live, with the stream title and preview.
RedditNew posts in a subreddit, with the poster, the post text and its image.
Reddit follows subreddits, not users. Enter a subreddit like r/gtaonline (or its link). Announcements are credited to the redditor who posted, in that subreddit.

Add your first account

  1. Choose Add Account and select the platform.
  2. Enter the username (or profile link) of the account to follow. If it isn't found, paste the full profile link instead.
  3. Choose Edit Account Channel and set where new posts are announced. Until a channel is set the account is not watched.
  4. (Optional) Set ping roles, a custom message, an embed colour, or turn on silent announcements.
The account's current post is not announced. When you add an account the bot records its latest post as a starting point, so your channel isn't flooded with old content. Only posts made after you add it are announced.

Embed colorColour of the announcement embed. Defaults to the platform’s own colour.
Suppress notificationsPosts the announcement silently, without a notification.
Attach MediaX, Instagram, Bluesky and Reddit only. Uploads the post's videos as files, with the caption as the message text instead of an embed. See below.
Enable shortsYouTube only. Turn off to skip Shorts and announce full videos only.
Remove AccountStop following an account.

Attach Media: post videos as files

With Attach Media on, a post with video is announced the way a person would share it: the video plays right in the channel, the caption sits underneath, and the link button stays. Turn it on per account under Edit Account Attach Media.

RuleDetail
Videos onlyPhotos and image posts are not attached, only videos.
Size limitAll videos of one post together must fit in 10 MB.
FallbackNo video, too big, or the download fails: the normal embed announcement goes out instead, so nothing is missed.
PermissionThe bot needs Attach Files in the announcement channel.
Attached announcements have no embed, so the Embed color setting doesn't apply to them.

Troubleshooting

ProblemFix
Nothing is announced at allSet an announcement channel on the account, accounts without one are not watched, and check the bot can post there.
Nothing since I added the accountExpected: the post that existed when you added it becomes the starting point. The next new post announces.
The account can’t be foundPaste the full profile link instead of the username. For Reddit use a subreddit (r/name), not a user.
Ping isn’t workingSet ping roles on the account (Edit Account) and make sure the bot’s role is above them.
Shorts keep coming throughTurn Enable shorts off for that YouTube account, it is on by default for newly added accounts.
Replies/retweets aren’t announcedIntended, only the account’s own posts are announced, so a busy replier can look quiet.
Attach Media is on but an embed was postedThe post had no video, its videos were over 10 MB together, or the bot lacks Attach Files in the channel.
“This option is not supported for this platform”Attach Media works for X, Instagram, Bluesky and Reddit accounts only.
