Automation Module

Reminders

Set it and forget it. Automatic reminders post a message to a channel on a schedule, every day at a set time, on certain weekdays, or on a repeating interval.

Where to find it: run /config Category dropdown Automation Reminders. Toggle the module on first.
Looking for personal reminders? That's the /reminder command, which any member can use. This module is for server-wide messages that staff schedule.

How it works

Each reminder has a name, a channel, a schedule, and something to send, a message, an embed, or both. Skipper checks every minute and posts any reminder that's due. You can have up to 15 reminders, each with its own schedule, and toggle them on and off without losing their setup.

A schedule can be written in plain English:

You typeIt sends
13:00Every day at 13:00. 1pm, 1:30pm, 13.00, and 1300 also work.
every monday at 4pmEvery Monday at 16:00.
every monday and friday at 9amOn each listed day at 09:00.
every 30 minEvery 30 minutes. 30m, 2h, 1 day, and 1 week also work.
Good to know

Times of day follow your server timezone, set in /config Settings Timezone. If it isn't set, Skipper guesses from the server's language, falling back to UTC. Intervals ignore the timezone.

Create your first reminder

  1. Choose Add Reminder, give it a name, and enter a schedule.
  2. Choose Edit Reminder, select it, then set the Channel to post in.
  3. Set a Message, an Embed, or both. The reminder won't send until it has a channel and something to say.
  4. (Optional) Add up to 5 link Buttons, like a sign-up form or event page.

Message variables

These placeholders are filled in when the reminder is posted:

VariableBecomes
{server}The server name.
{members}The current member count.

To ping a role, put its mention in the message, for example @Events.

Troubleshooting

ProblemFix
Reminder never sendsCheck the module and the reminder are both on, and that it has a Channel plus a Message or Embed.
Sends at the wrong timeSet the server timezone in /config → Settings → Timezone.
“That schedule is not valid”Try a simpler format like 13:00, every monday at 4pm, or every 30 min. Intervals need a unit, e.g. 30m not 30.
“Cannot repeat faster than every 5 minutes”Intervals must be at least 5 minutes.
Bot can’t postGive Skipper View Channel, Send Messages, and Embed Links in the channel.
Role ping doesn’t notifyMake the role mentionable, or give Skipper Mention Everyone.
